Report on the second German-Polish talks in Lodz
The second German-Polish talks took place in Lodz from March 25-27, 2026, this time excellently organized by Prof. Wladyslaw Czaplinski.
From the German side, Markus Beham, Frankfurt, Oder, Stephan Hobe, Cologne, Stephanie Schiedermair, Leipzig, Stefanie Schmahl Würzburg, Christian Tomuschat, Berlin and Robert Uerpmann-Wittzack, Regensburg participated.
Practical issues of international law, such as the conflicts in Gaza, Iran, and Ukraine, were discussed, as well as more theoretical questions concerning sources of law, general legal principles, and the influence of international jurisdiction. The high-level discussions, along with the gala dinner in a pleasant atmosphere, contributed significantly to the exchange of ideas between scholars from both countries.
The next meeting is planned for 2028 in Frankfurt, Oder.
